![]() This means that Federation aligned characters can’t fly Klingon ships and visa-versa- including ships purchased with real money. You Can’t Use Ships That Don’t Belong to Your Faction The biggest impact of your Klingon/Federation faction choice is that… Moreover, though certain factions have meatier stories than others that continue on from that point, everything eventually becomes a more or less unified narrative regardless of the side your on. While each of the eight factions has its own playable prologue to set everything up, once it’s done, you’ll either be railroaded into one of the two factions-or be forced to choose joining one or the other. When it comes down to it, there are really only two factions gameplay-wise, the Federation and the Klingons. So, you boot up the game for the first time and notice there are six factions to choose from: Starfleet, the Klingon Defense Force, the Romulan Republic, the Dominion, TOS Starfleet, and DSC Starfleet. Here are the things I learned along the way. Now more than a decade later with it being free-to-play, I decided now was the time to dive headlong into the sprawling world of post-TNG Star Trek. Yet, for some reason, I never got around to playing it. at least its a bit of realism that hints of immersion i gues.As a lifelong Star Trek fan, I remember being excited for Star Trek Online back when it launched in 2010. I've never had more than 2,5 million credits to spend in all that time i've played and seeing prices going into the tens of billions of credits. I don't even look at the exchange anymore. oh w8 yes, one is, my omnidirectional beam is. I've been playing since closed beta and my main toon now has 2, yes TWO, mark XV weapons and they're not even max quality. Never mind the impossibility of getting my gear to levels that aren't embarrassing to show to any serious sto player. Most of the times, by the time i get done with the doffs, the inventory and the admiralty stuff, i find that i hardly have any time left to do actual episodes, tfo's or event related things (for which i actually went into sto in the first place. With the few hours a week i have that i can spend on sto its a bit much tbh. everytime i get online in online i feel overwhelmed. hope you guys can use it and enjoy the game abit more. I will try to make lists without fleet and lockbox ships for ease of use when i get round to it.Ĭheers all. ![]() Initial upload is for all ships, including lockbox/fleet etc. Just download & copy the ships.csv to the sto-aso folder and you should be able to add all ships currently in the game. The buttons in the top right enable the tool to be " always on top" and "hard left/right" so you can use it while also being able to click ingame at the same time.Īs the tool has not been updated a long time, i have created an updated ship-list for use with the program, i will attach to this post. In my case, i find 25% crit rate works best and sees alot of usage from all ships across my roster. Starting up the tool I run the sto-aso.exe, from a shortcut in my startmenu, which should auto-launch the java engine and present a window where you can set up your captains and their ship roster.ĭepending in your preferences and roster, you can now set up "optimal" jobs. Next up is the download of the tool zip, unpack it to your own preferred location (i use mine from a onedrive folder to keep it in sync between laptop & pc) <= download and install JRE from here, and install with all options checked for best results. i use the "Adopt OpenJDK JRE8 with Open J9" currently to run the tool. There are a few requirements currently, as the tool is made in Java, you need a Java Runtime, which is annoying by Oracle these days, but the community has continued with a free version of it. While the tool has not been updated for a long time, it still works well, and is "easy" to update i found out. Admiralty System Optimizer is an external third-party program for Star Trek Online that help pick the best set of ships to send out on Admiralty assignments.
